Carrying stuff around

One of Amilie's pasttime activities is carrying stuff around. Her absolute favorite is Pus' bed. But if he is lying on it she finds other stuff to move around. This step stool of hers is to be found anywhere in the house depending on where she last put it down.
Taking a walk with her step stool.

Time for some rest. Practical device.

Skippertak

Skippertak is the Norwegian word for doing and awful lot in one go after doing nothing for a long time. Here comes my "Skippertak"! :) Some everyday pictures from Amilie's life recently:

Ready to leave for daycare in her new winter coat.

Daddy is home for the weekend, let's have some fun!

She wants to put her diaper on herself, dress herself and take her shoes on and off. The last part she succeds with most of the time, especially the taking off bit.

After a long day nothing is like cuddling up with a wet rag and her monkey friend wathching "Drømmehagen".

Amilie dancing and dancing

I still have not found the right editing program for our videos, so here are some shorter ones. They go back a few weeks, but fun to see how she gets more and more steady in her balance.

This is just a month after she started walking so she still likes to support herself every now and then. I like her Elvis Presley shaking legs. The horse you see in the end used to be my oldest brother's. I guess it still is, he just lets Amilie use it a bit. :)

Here is a month later (beginning of November) when she is dancing to the music from the TV, (she keeps turning it on herself, she wont sit for long to watch anything, she just likes the music and the pictures, I guess). She is more steady here. I like the headbanging at the end. I do not like the demolishing at the very end, we had a serious conversation about that afterwards.) Sorry about the poor quality, didn't know the right settings...

These videos take forever to upload, so that will be it for tonight. :) Enjoy!

Too busy for this blog....

It is busy being a "single" working mom! I am grateful that John is at home most of the time, but his job do require quite a lot of traveling and I just have to take care of all the business at home by myself... Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks though and I am very happy as Amilie's mom and John's wife and happy to have a good job that I enjoy and a good church to worship at. I just feel there is not enough hours to the day. These weeks before Christmas are busy at work as we prepare for the parent's night for the different classes. Being a music teacher there is a lot to prepare and when I have to stay home with a sick Amilie, there is noone to do the job for me, so I kind of have to work double to make up for the lost rehearsals afterwards. It is fun though, I really enjoy making Christmas programs with the classes, they are good kids and easy to work with. I also have a list of stuff that needs to get done before we leave for the US, but I still have a couple of weeks so I should be able to sort most of it. Luckily John is working only a short week in Germany this time, so we will have him back by Wednesday night. :)

Here is some pictures from Sweden, not totally recent but some that has been on my sharing list for a while. :)

Amilie and John enjoyin the swing John put up at our summer house in Sweden. Yes, Scandinavian winters can be quite cold so Amilie is used to dressing right for the weather.

I like the trees behind our house and the swing fit perfectly in the middle of two of them. John is so crafty, he found a way to connect it to the tree. The shade was already taken down in this picture as it was blown to pieces by one of the strong autumn storms.

It was quite cold in the house when we arrived last time, because we had forgotten to ask the neighbour to put the heater on(good to have neighbours that will help us with that). So I put on Amilie all the woolen clothes I had available. :) She is happy as always here in the garage where her daddy loves to spend time fixing stuff and working on his vehicles.

Here is a good example of one of such. :) Amilie likes to ride it too, at least when it is not moving.

Will share some more soon. :)

Dancing to her own "jukebox gloworm"

Amilie does not spend so much time in her room as most of her toys are in our living room. One day she went in there though and didn't come out, I could hear her working on something so I went to check on her. I found her dancing to her "own little jukebox": her gloworm. She is still having a bad cold so her breathing is a bit heavy and her nose is runny, but she still enjoys her dancing. I have been looking for a edit tool for mod-files(jvc hdd cameras), but have not found one yet - so you get the short version since the longer was just a bit too long for this program to upload it. You still get some of the "good timing".

And here is one dancing whilst sitting. :) Enjoy!

Nam-nam - Mmmm

I had good intentions of not letting Amilie have any sweets until she was over 2 years old. John didn't have the same intentions and I gave up on that a long time ago myself. She still doesn't get much sweeets, but she knows they exist and has also found the main source of sweets in the house. We have been lazy and not put child safety lokcs on our drawers in the kitchen. She loves to go and check out what is in the drawers and she will often take some stuff out and carry it around the house, sometimes bringing it back to the drawers, sometimes not. Anyways, the other day I found it was on high time to have the sweets drawer removed out of her reach.

I had forgotten to adjust the camera to the light, so the quality is a bit poor...

It's amazing how happy you can make a kid by giving it sweets....

Now I shall say no more and you will believe she didn't ask for more....

Another day at home with my little one

She got another day at home that little girl. She was not feeling good at all this morning - wouldn't eat, wouldn't play, just sit on mama's lap. I finally got some food in her and she got a bit better later in the day, but quite fuzzy and tired still, some due to lack of sleep last night as the fever bothered her quite much.

I am happy to stay home with my girl, but I always feel bad phoning work telling them i cannot come to do my duty. I teach subjects that aren't easy for subsitute teachers to do so my program normally is put on a hold until next time a show up... Luckily Amilie has not been sick much this fall, only once before, so I have not been away from my teaching that much.

John has been doing his safety course which has been quite demanding. It also starts really early so he has to get up at six every morning - he doesn't like it. And his body doesn't like it - he has been really worn out these days and tonight he seems to be catching whatever Amilie has been sick with. It will not be good for him to swim and dive in the 38 degrees Fahrenheit (4 grader celcius) ocean tomorrow. But i guess he has to do it to complete his course... Pray he won't get neumonia!

Here are some recent pictures. She has been having a cold with a runny nose for a long time, sometimes i clean up every minute time, sometimes not.... She really hates to have her face washed and nose blown so that makes me even lazier... But most of the time she is nice and clean.

She loves building with her blocks.

She is so patient and presise, just like her parents. :)

When the work is complete she always cheers herself!

After some good building projects it is good to relax in front of the TV.
